Our Story:
Our story begins twenty three years ago with a small Asian grocery store and sushi bar in Clawson called Noble Fish. When Noble Fish opened in 1986 sushi wasn’t exactly mainstream fare, but the store became very popular. Noble Fish continued to grow, and eventually it became necessary to open another sushi bar to keep up with the demand for fresh, high quality sushi and phenomenal customer service. Our current Troy location was selected, and we began to prepare a place that would focus solely on sushi and Japanese cuisine.
In 2004, we opened our doors as Noble Fish House, but confusion with the Clawson store quickly prompted us to change our name to Nobana in 2005. Nobana became busy and we enjoyed getting to know ourcustomers and watching the restaurant flourish.
Corporate restructuring in 2008 brought managers from all over the country to Nobana, where they experienced our unique dining environment. Enchanted by the fusion of cultures and the modern, friendly atmosphere, they decided to create a new type of sushi restaurant, taking Nobana’s principles and expanding them into a wholesale sushi division and a dining concept that could be reproduced nation wide. Sushi Do was born. On June 15, 2009 Nobana reopened as Sushi Do with a new menu, and renewed commitment to our customers and to quality sushi.
